How CompuTraining is Different

Unlike spinning, CompuTraining allows you to put the time in your own saddle and the (virtual) miles on your own bike. You’re also getting real-time feedback on your wattage, cadence (with optional cadence monitor) and heart rate (if you have a Polar heart rate monitor) to assess and improve overall cycling efficiency. For over two decades, CompuTrainer has been helping athletes realize their true cycling potential. With more podium finishes than any other trainer on the market, it’s no surprise they are the top choice for professional athletes and training coaches around the world. Whatever type of cyclist you are – a triathlete, a road racer, a weekend warrior or a fitness fanatic – CompuTrainer can be a valuable tool in helping you reach your goals.

CompuTraining at Higher Gear

Our boutique studio in Wilmette has space for up to 8 cyclists to ride simultaneously. We have a wide selection of courses and workouts available. We’ll also have (limited) storage space

While riders share a course, each person rides to his/her ability, resistance from the trainer is based on rider weight and the profile of the course. While riders share the workout, the rider’s resistance is based on his/her respective power output (FTP or Functional Threshold Power).

The Structured workouts will take place on Tuesdays at 6am and 9:15am, Thursdays at 4:30pm and 6:15pm, and Sundays at 11am.

If you do not know your FTP, please contact the shop for details on testing if you plan to attend these sessions. If you already know your FTP, we can enter it in the computer for you. The registration link for specific workouts can be found here!
