About the team

In November 2011 a group of young men from the Chicago area came together to form the Chicago Junior Development Team (CJDT). With a passion for cycling and fine jellies, these boys are out to make their mark on the Junior cycling scene. They compete in road races in the spring and summer and cyclocross in the fall. They aim to redefine the phrase “Team Tactics”. With a hardworking, can-do attitude and a penchant for style, they are the team to watch or to be part of!

2012 Race Season Results

Kenosha Week 2 Criterium: Thomas takes third place in Age 15-16 category
Kenosha Week 3 Criterium: Tommy wins the field Sprint
Cherry Valley Time Trial: Tommy takes first in 15-18 Category
Monsters of the Midway Criterium: Thomas takes a three man break-away and finishes second overall, Kellen takes the field sprint in fourth.

Interests: Endurance, Criterium, Track, Time Trials, Cyclocross

Max Auerbach – “Thundercat”

Category 4 Racer
Interests: Criterium, Cyclocross
Goals: I want to build my strength and endurance, make the podium for cross, finish top ten for road, get more into cycling than already am.
Cycling Experience:I’ve been riding for about a year and a half, I started with the HP Giants cycling club, and now I want to join a non scholastic team.

Thomas Elliott – “Belgian Waffles” - CFO

Category: 4A
Interests: Criterium, Time Trials, Cyclocross
Goals for the Road: Win at least one road race and help team win throughout the season.
Goals for Cyclocross: Podium at the end of the Chicago Cyclocross Cup, Win at least two Cross Races, have one of the CJDT riders win the overall Standings

Cycling Experience: Being born and having lived most of my life in Europe, I grew up in one of the best cycling countries in the world. I lived 3 years in Belgium, where races would pass right in front up my doorstep. I always loved watching all the big races, understanding the tactics, collecting water bottles and musettes in the feed zones, but I didn’t get into racing until I arrived here in Illinois were I got my first road bike last year. I raced every race of the last cross season and that delivered me a third spot in the juniors category of the Chicago Cross Cup, and from here on, only looking to keep going for wins.
