We may have mentioned it once or twice, but just in case you haven’t yet heard, one of the (many) reasons we’re excited about the fourth year of the Wrigley Field Road Tour is that the ride benefits two great charities.
The WFRT was the brainchild of Chicago Cubs Board Member, Todd Ricketts and SRAM Executive Vice President, F.K. Day. The event offers participants to enjoy a day out on their bikes and a celebration on the outfield of Wrigley Park. But the heart of the ride is to raise funds to benefit the global work of World Bicycle Relief and the local work of Chicago Cubs Charities.
Recently, one of the these charities, World Bicycle Relief, was featured on our local public radio station. For those curious about how WBR was conceived, why WBR built a bike from the ground up and what the Wrigley Field Road Tour means to WBR, you’ll want to hear what World Bicycle Relief Founders, FK Day and Leah Missbach Day had to say to Jerome McDonnell on WBEZ’s Worldview.
Are you riding in the 2013 WFRT? Our customers always come up with unique fundraising ideas. We’d love to hear about yours!
