Saturday is the IronMan World Championship in Kailua-Kona, Hawai’i. Athletes compete in a 2.4-mile ocean swim, a 112-mile bike ride through lava fields and up through windy and rainy Hilo and then return to the lava fields for a full 26.2-mile marathon. It’s hard work, but the spoils of war are sweet. And this year, the midnight finish in Kona will be just a little bit sweeter. Okay, a LOT sweeter…
World Bicycle Relief just happens to be Jordan Rapp’s favorite non-profit charity organization. (And ours too!) For the past four years, pro triathlete Jordan Rapp (a/k/a Rappstar) has run a Charity Challenge to raise money and, subsequently, buy bicycles for World Bicycle Relief.
You can donate ANY amount, but ONLY donations of $134 or more (the cost of one Buffalo bicycle) will make you eligible to earn some of the great fundraising awards. For every multiple of $134 that you donate, you get another chance at an award. $268 earns you two chances, $402 earns you three, $536 earns you four, etc.
…This year, for the Rappstar Charity Challenge, Specialized will match all donations made this week for the WBR Fundraiser, up to $30,000! Hurry and donate to the Rappstar Charity Challenge for WBR between now and midnight on Saturday to have your donation matched by Specialized. If you go big and donate $134, that will now provide TWO complete WBR bicycles to people in need.
Every $134 gives you the chance to win over 40 prizes and $34,000 worth of items to win!
Help Jordan raise $100k for World Bicycle Relief!
For his part, Rappstar donates 10% of his prize money from the Ironman World Championship, rounded up to the nearest whole bicycle amount.
100% of your contributions are tax deductible and will be directed back to World Bicycle Relief.
