From one of the young guns of the sport to the seasoned veteran, Tom Boonen has found his way into the hearts of cycling fans across the world. Such world-class skill & sportsmanship had to be celebrated with a world-class party.
Not to mention the friends of Tom coming out to race, including Johan Museeuw “The Lion of Flanders,” Marcel Kittel, Peter Sagan, and other pros from Quickstep, Lotto-NL Jumbo, and more teams from the UCI WorldTour.
Frites, beers, music, and bike racing. I stayed for several hours, watching my role model cyclists race around the course, then put on a bit of a celebration after.
Back to the racing grind for me, as May is the start of the great weather in Belgium and races, too, begin to heat up.
