Yes, we gush on Specialized. We feature their bikes month after month. We talk about the ways they are constantly improving, the good they’re doing in communities and just how awesome they are all around. If you’ve figured out that we’re big fans of Specialized, you’re on to us. And that’s why when we get a chance to visit them and to learn about what new and innovative products they have coming our way, we jump on the chance.
Last week we visited Morgan Hill for Specialized’s annual dealer event. There, we got a reminder of the histoy of the company. In 1974, Mike Sinyard sold his VW van in order to purchase a bicycle to ride around Europe. While in Milan, Sinyard got the idea to distribute Italian bicycle parts from his garage. Using the same bike he rode around Europe, he distributed bike parts to shops around the bay area and Specialized Bicycle Components was born. A fully restored VW bus serves as a reminder of the risk Sinyard took and just how far the company has grown.
While in Morgan Hill, we attended sessions at the historic Granada Theater to lean more about what’s coming from Specialized in 2018. Take our word for it, innovation is still their priority.
While there, we also got hands on with the newest bikes and gear.
Over the coming months, we’ll be talking more about the newest innovations and the bikes coming out of Morgan Hill for 2018.
For us, the visit reaffirmed our belief that Specialized is a leader in the industry and we’re proud to be able to bring Specialized bicycles and gear to our customers.
